Students, Finals Week, and Performance

The fall semester has been one of the busiest semesters for Blackboard at UK. Over 18,000 unique students participated in a Blackboard course this semester, the largest participation sense Blackboard started at UK.

As usual finals week marked the highest traffic of the semester, I’ll forego the graphs, as they always look about the same. The difference was about 10,000 more page views per hour than previous weeks. However with the increased traffic, performance didn’t suffer, with the average execution time per page at 209 milliseconds. Throughout the month of December, page execution times have averaged 201 milliseconds.
